Hermetik

Hermetik (aka Jody Mac) grew up on beautiful Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia, surrounded by Celtic music and ‘kitchen parties’. Though his first beat influences were the sounds of feet stomping and the pounding of fists upon tables, he became a regular face of the emerging Halifax & Montreal dance scenes in the mid 90’s and traded in his fiddle and bodhran for Vinyl by 2005 and started playing House music. From the West coast to Atlantic Canada, he’s brought his evolving House & Techno sounds to the stages of parties afterhours clubs and in recent years was invited to play sets at Atlantic Canadian festivals such as Future Forest, Electric Pines and Classics, alongside names such as DJ Sneak, Doc Link, Mark Farina, Dr. Livingstone & Veev.

After taking a brief hiatus to complete a music production program, the name and persona of ‘Hermetik’ was born. Humbly mentored by two Canadian legends; ILL Gates & Jerome Robins, Hermetik is now busy in the studio creating his own brand of sound. His time and effort has already been recognized and Hermetik has secured both House & Techno releases on Indy labels; LFTD Global (Can), G-Mafia Records (US) and Mustache Crew Records (BR)
Drawing on past experiences, guidance and a curiosity to explore music, Hermetik has defined his sound – a blend of Tribal Tech House & Melodic Techno, created by mixing analog hardware synths & drum machines with purely digital creations. Proving that nothing beats consistency, dedication and the commitment to lifelong learning, Hermetik believes he only getting started.
