CJW

Colin Wright (CJW) is a Scottish DJ and producer based just outside Glasgow, whose sound is rooted in Detroit Techno, Deep House, Deep Tech, and Minimal. Artists like Funk D’Void, Moodymanc, and Shurikan have left a lasting mark on his music — and Funk D’Void’s influence runs deep, from early inspiration through to coaching, training, and eventually remixing Colin’s tracks “Arch Stanton” and “Remedy.”

Other pivotal moments include coaching from industry stalwart Mike Monday and a standout performance at a Joey Beltram after-party for Bulletdodge. His productions under the CJW alias have appeared on labels including Motech, True Type Tracks, Hypnotic Groove, Terminus Audio, and 7Teen, and have been featured in podcasts by John Selway (Tronic) and The Black Dog (Radio Dogma).

In 2014, Colin founded Wirelab Records — built from a desire to release quality, groove-driven electronic music on his own terms. In 2023, fellow producer Barry Johnstone (Dark Kandy) came on board as co-collaborator, and together they’ve driven the label to new heights. 2024 marked a milestone: Wirelab’s 10th anniversary, celebrated with the release of its 50th EP — an eight-track, various-artists album. The label has earned support from dance music heavyweights including Laurent Garnier, Slam, Funk D’Void, Joris Voorn, and Rolando.

Now well into its second decade, Wirelab runs a bimonthly release schedule and is home to artists Late Night Cuts, Hermetik, and Rhys Williams, with its first-ever club night taking place on 29th August 2026.
